Equipment Needs
Hello returning and new Betta Families!
I am so excited to be returning as head coach this year and cannot wait to see all of your wonderful little faces soon! Below you will find a checklist of equipment for each age group. This list is what your swimmer will need to bring with them to practice every single day. While the orange items are not required, they will be helpful for your swimmer to have as we will use them periodically for technique training or drylands. I have also included some considerations you might find helpful when selecting equipment.
Swim Gear | SwimOutlet.com tends to be reasonable priced and has all the swimming equipment you will need so check it out! Amazon is also a good place to look for equipment. Sometimes Walmart and Target will have kickboards and goggles, but I would try to stay away from goggles with thin(material wise) straps as they are likely to break or slip off faces.
Find your swimmer(s) age group below for the list and please let me know if you have any questions. See you soon!
11 and up:
Water!!!
Swimsuit/Towel
Cap (I recommend 2 just in case)
Goggles (I recommend 2 just in case)
Kickboard
Pull Buoy
Fins
Swim Paddles
2 Tennis Balls or equivalent sized balls
A mesh bag separate from your swim bag to store wet items in
10 and Under:
Water!!!
Swimsuit (Preferably a one piece! Two pieces tend to slip when going off the block or doing laps)
Cap and Goggles (I would recommend sticking to a swim brand like Sporti, Speedo, or TYR. These goggles tend to hold up better on little faces when they are fit properly and the straps are less likely to snap)
Kickboard (If your swimmer is on the smaller side, you may want to look for a child sized kickboard. Regular boards tend to be too long for little swimmers and is hard for them to stay afloat)
Pull Buoy
Tennis Balls or equivalent sized balls
Go Bettas!
