Kingston Meet 6/24-

Good Morning!

Attached are the heat sheet and the entry by athlete pages. Please review these entries for tonight and have your swimmers prepared. I spoke with the kiddos this morning about the importance of staying hydrated today. It is supposed to be a heat index of 105-110 today so it is imperative that all swimmers and parents are drinking plenty of water and replenishing those electrolytes. My favorite ways are the Gogo Squeeze electrolyte applesauce and Body Armor for gradual replenishment. Pickles and bananas are also great sources of potassium and sodium as well as mustard for a quick boost. I would recommend at least 3 bottles of water per swimmer and an electrolyte source.

Clerk of course also wanted me  to remind parents and swimmers that the only ones who should be past the lifeguard tower behind the starting line are coaches and swimmers IN THOSE HEATS ONLY! Please help us police this as it will help the meet run smoother and won't confuse the kids. Also please check that you are signed up for a volunteer position tonight and are prepared with all the information you need. The meet is the same place as last week, so take your experience last week to inform tonight.

Finally, warmups will start at approximately 5:30. Please have your swimmer there ready to go by 5:20 so we can stretch as a team. The interstate on the way back to LC will also be backed up as they are continuing construction, so plan ahead for that. Since it will be a hot, late night (and some family health issues I'm dealing with), there will be NO PRACTICE on Wednesday, June 25th. Use the time to rehydrate and rest up!

See you soon!
